On Aug. 1st at 2PM, Citizens from across the state of Ohio will converge on the Statehouse in Columbus for the first state wide Ohio Tea Party. The Ohio Liber-Tea Party, being organized by The Ohio Liberty Council, will focus on promoting and initiating local action and Constitutional solutions to problems.
What can you expect from The Ohio Liber-Tea Party? The Ohio Liber-Tea Party will focus on principles over politics. You will hear from citizens from our communities and leaders of respected liberty and freedom organizations about why they are concerned about the direction of America. But more importantly you will hear about how local action, constitutional principles, and state sovereignty (10th amendment movement) offer real solutions, and what we can all do to get involved.

Thanks for organizing this. The battle for less government is being lost day by day. I just heard the cap and trade bill passed – which will greatly increase our energy, food and most other costs. I am so tired of big federal government and their continued disregard for the people of America. Do you know if the Ohio Sovereignty bill will protect Ohio from having to do many of these things the federal government is forcing upon us? Can they discuss this at the tea party?

I suspect that things will get bad enough that states might start to invoke the principles of nullification on some of this unconstitutional legislation. See http://www.ohiofreestate.com for information on this. Here is an interesting story about Arizona considering National Health Care Nullification as an example.

I actually heard there are six states looking into National Health Care Nullification. I am all for it!

The Ohio Sovereignty bill is actually a resolution. There’s an explanation of a bill vs. resolution here: http://homeschooling.gomilpitas.com/articles/031108.htm
The 10th amendment of the US Constitution states: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
The 10th amendment already is supposed to guarantee our sovereignty. The 10th amendment and how it’s one of the keys to us in reigning in the federal government will definitely be discussed at the tea party.

The goal of the federal government is to limit the power of the states by means of mandates and legislation when the constitution clearly states that the federal governments’ powers are limited by the states and the people. That is why the tenth amendment is important as is SCR-13 (The Ohio Sovereignty Resolution). SCR-13 just puts the federal government on notice that we still have the 10th amendment and reserve the right to reject any legislation that is passed by Congress that violates the amendment.

The 10th Amendment, if I understand it properly and will do more research, is a great way to keep Washington from our doorstep. Our staunch defense against the rise of socialism and worse yet, tyranny which is in the making. Congress is NOT listening to us. We must really stress that all future elections, mid-term and otherwise, incumbants need to be voted OUT. And email as many Senators as you can EVERY night. Do not forget too, there is a march on Washington Sept 12th. WE THE PEOPLE need to be there-ALL of us who won’t stand for this Obama regime taking our country.

We had a great rally in Springfield Ohio on July 4th. Over 1000 people showed up to protest. This man named Kyle Koehler spoke about the Free Market and Profit.
You should consider having him speak at the August 1st rally. He was passionate and refreshing.

WOW!!
Looking forward to August 1st!!!!
